Conversations with Jeff
I like my therapist. His name is Jeff. I have been seeing him last few years. I think everybody needs a therapist! You ask why? Well, maybe I’ll write a post about that some other time but back to the story I wanna share today.
So, I went to see Jeff yesterday and as usual, we talked about different things going on in my life. Without diving into too many details and coming to the point, Jeff and I were talking about something related to love. And while I was so engrossed in the conversation we were having, I casually said in passing something along the lines of “…like I have an infinite amount of love for my mom…”. He smiled, and I observed. I hesitated, and asked him, “Why do you smile?” Jeff took a 3 second pause, probably wanting to make sure that he uses the right words, like he almost always does, maybe also because he’s a therapist, and said, “It’s not something I hear often from most people sitting in your spot.” And that made me chuckle 😊
What Jeff said was surprising to me. But it made me re-realize how incredibly lucky I am to have the parents and the family that I have. And that I can say without any hesitation that I love my parents an infinite amount. What Jeff also made me realize was the significance of that statement and how huge that is especially for people who don’t have the luxury to make that statement.
Thanks, mom and dad, for being my mom and dad. Love you an infinite amount! ❤️ I am incredibly grateful.
